We will be staying in Murren arriving on a Wednesday and leaving the following Monday. I’ve already purchased my Swiss Pass 8 day (second class) and Eurorail pass 5 day (1st class) for my son and I. We will probably want to take the trip up to Jungfraujoch on that Thursday, Friday, or Saturday (we are talking about Aug , 22, 23 or even 24 2019). However, I’m not sure what route will be quickest to get to from our the hotel Alpina in Murren. Cost is not a big issue, but I would at least like to get the 25% discount for Swiss pass. Also, I’m not sure how vital reservations are for this trip, but believe they are required and should probably be made a good ways ahead of time. We will also be going up the Schilthorn, but believe it is included with the Swiss Pass and it is on the route up from Murren (not sure about reservations for the Shilthorn).

It is not necessary to make reservations far ahead for Jungfraujoch. It is best to see what the weather is doing. Reservations are only available from Kleine Scheidegg upwards. Have a look at bit.ly/2JQKKSh for an explanation of what reservations actually mean for the Jungfraujoch train.

If you look at the map you can download at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity it will tell you not only what is covered by the SWISS TRAVEL PASS but also the route options from Mürren.

You can buy a boarding pass for Schilthorn to avoid the queues. See http://www.myswissalps.com/sc hilthorn/tickets

Thanks, for the info. My only question is that I thought that the Schilthorn was included with the Swisspass we already have (included since 2018). Would the boarding pass that we could purchase be a specific seat reservation?

There are no reserved seats in a cable car. The boarding pass just gets you past the queue at the ticket office. If you don’t mind the queue (if there is one) the trip is free but you still need to show your STP at the ticket office.
