Dear Bubbybains, i am too searching the same, herein in Switzerland this site, offering only one sim, ie travellers brand which seems to me quite costly……i searched in amazon Indian site and i zeroed on to Matrix sime, although not yet decided as my journey be still far away……

One more thing, i too earlier think of only data card, but later on realized that for various booking etc purpose , for various excursion purposes, wherein specifically to catch particular travel agency etc, then mere data card not always the best option and hence, a little more call or sms facility the best…its just my recent changed view which i though to share with you….Enjoy and all the best..

The official MSA recommendations are at http://www.myswissalps.com/si mcard.

I had an excellent experience with the Salt Pre-pay SIM. It is unbeatable value in Switzerland. See http://www.salt.ch/en/prepay/ and cancel the pop-up that hides the real deal.

    Salt is Switzerland only.

IN the “old days” I bought a SIM card and physically inserted it in an unlocked flip phone (Morocco, example).

Is the SALT prepaid SIM the same. Or can I load this somehow into my IPhone smart phone? Thank you.

    Hi mattiedog,

I’m not sure what you mean by load into your phone – to me this is the same as inserting it.

Whatever phone you have, the sim card needs to be physically inserted (and the phone needs to be unlocked to use it).

You can use a Salt SIM in an iPhone providing it is not locked to your home network provider.

I think your sim is only valid in Switzerland – you’ll need to get a new one for Switzerland.
