I know there’ll be snow on the Matterhorn but will there typically be any snow at the elevation of the end of the train ride where the restaurant is? The ambiance for photography would be better.

I’ve just had a look at the Live Cam and there is a light dusting of snow at the moment, but that will probably melt during the day. Have a look at http://www.zermatt.ch/en/Webc ams/Gornergrat-3-089-m for the latest.

    Cheers

We were there 1 week ago and no snow. Of course this time of year that could change overnight. Mark

We were there a few days ago. There was very little snow on the ground but summer is over so check webcams to see the latest.

    jlovda,

As the previous poster stated “…summer is over…”! Snow can come at any time.

During our time in Zermatt this year from 5 September to 15 September snow was a fairly common occurrence depending on the altitude. Regarding Gornergrat specifically, during the previous mentioned time frame there were three days when snow was present in quantities to allow the making of snowballs and snowmen!

    Safe travels.

    Best regards,
