In years past the SBB had one season free deals for rides such as Pilatus and Schnige Platte. Is there anything happening this fall 2022??

Second what stop to I get off at on the MGB to see the Aletsch Glacier? Is there a cable car, bus, etc. to get to a look out point?

No, this year, there is the 4 days pass promotion. Pilatus cable car is out of service 24 Oct to 04 Nov.

To see the Aletsch Glacier, you have to go to Mt. Eggishorn or Mt. Bettmerhorn. See itinerary & connections at http://www.sbb.ch/en

As Trainliner mentioned, there are no such deals currently. And there are mountains you can visit for free with a Swiss Travel Pass anyway, such as Rigi and Stanserhorn:

The Aletsch Glacier can’t be seen from one of the valley stations of the MGB trains. You’ll have to visit a mountain top for the best views. I agree with Trainliner that Bettmerhorn and Eggishorn are excellent options:

With reference to your St. Gallen flag, kindly note, as a Swiss resident, you cannot buy Swiss Travel Passes, unless for your guests from abroad.

But, there is the similar offer for residents with a half fare card (Halbtax).

Thanks. First. I am a US citizen who has visited Switzerland almost every year (~24 times) since 1994 just to photograph and ride the trains. I have been in almost every main depot and am leaving tomorrow for an unplanned trip because several depots, including Bellinzona, will be open the weekend of Oct.22-23. I always buy an 8 day pass which I purchase at the SBB office at the airport upon arrival. It’s now a little cheaper than two 4 day passes. I never buy ahead in case my plans change.

The St. Gallen wappen was just chosen as an avatar because I liked it. It was taken from a photo I took of Ae6/6 11442 some years ago.
