    Hi,

I’m looking to take the Gotthard Panorama Express from Luzern-Bellinzona. I see the first part is on the boat. How far is this from the main train station? I’ll be arriving that morning from Bern.

    Many thanks!

Hi ProfRob and welcome to MySwissAlps!

The boat dock is perhaps 3 to 5 minute from Luzern (local German spelling) train station by foot.

If you have any questions about the Gotthard Panoramic Express train let us know. We have a lot of information on our page I just linked as well.

Thank you very much! Looks like the 10.00 from Bern will get me there with enough time to walk to the boat.

That should be fine, as long as you don’t dawdle 🙂 Once out of the front of the station you should see the boats docked on the lake. You may want to give yourself a touch more time so you aren’t too rushed (there may be more than one boat docked there).

What dates are you traveling? There is some construction on that line (Bern to Luzern) this summer – Use the Swiss railway timetable and it will show if there is construction on the route/train (shown with a small icon). Also, the Gotthard Panoramic Express only operates daily after July 3.

I’m aiming to go July 28th so hopefully the construction will be finished by then. I’ll follow your advice and take an earlier train so as not to cut it too fine!

    Thanks!
