We have Swiss Travel Pass and have questions about three train trips (travelling late May and early June)::

1. non-stop Luzern to Lugano–fare is covered, but do we need seat reservations and if so how far in advance advisable to make them and do we need to pay for them?

2. Lugano to Venice–what part is covered by STPass? seat reservations needed? if so how far in advance and cost? via Chiasso or Milan better?

3. Venice to Zurich–same questions as #2 above

1. No, you don’t need seat reservations unless you decide to travel by the special Gotthard Panorama Express train.

2. The leg up to Chiasso is covered. Validity details can be found at myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/validity. You need an additional ticket Chiasso-Venice: myswissalps.com/traint ickets/italy. The timetable will provide all possible connections: myswissalps.com/timeta ble.

3. Likewise, the leg Chiasso-Zurich is covered and Venice-Chiasso has to be paid for separately.
