We are travelling to Switzerland after our trip to Croatia ending in Venice and leaving Venice on Nov. 7. We have 5 days and 1 travelling day (6 days total) to spend in Switzerland. We need to end up in Zurich on day 6 as we fly out on day 7. We would like to do the Bernina Express sometime in those days. We could take the train from Venice to Milan to Turano and catch the Bernina Express to Chur in the afternoon but we might miss some scenery if it gets dark. We could take the train from Venice to Milan to Lucerne or Zermatt , etc and then go to Chur sometime in the next few days and do the Bernina Express. We would love some suggestions.

Hello Criss and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

If you go via Tirano it will be dark before you get to the Landwasser Viaduct. See www.timeanddate.com/su n/switzerland/chur?month=11&year=2018.

Use the Swiss Train Timetable (www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to work out where you can get to if you want to arrive still in daylight.

Zermatt would be my choice. Or break the Bernina at St Moritz or Pontresina and go from there.

Hi Criss,

With 5 days in Switzerland you have a lot of options for what you can do in Switzerland.

To get an idea of what other options there are have a look here:
