Hi,

Needed some suggestions on places which we should cover in our trip to Switzerland during the above dates. Husband and wife traveling with 2 kids aged 11 and 8. Kids will like to see snowfall and do some fun kids activities. We would also like to cover some Christmas markets/festivities,,explore old towns, castles, train journeys. We would be leaving from Paris on 24th Dec morning and our flight back to Singapore is from Paris on 30th late night

have read so much about different places like mount titlis,Murren ,Joungfrau,Montreaux but confused now as to what should be our best itinerary

thanks

Welcome to MySwissAlps Amit!

If you prefer snow Montreux is not your best option. It can certainly snow there, but a town up in the mountains would be a better choice. Either Wengen or Mürren would work. You can visit Thun and Bern from there, and even Lucerne if you don't mind a long day of traveling.

Please see:

You will be traveling during the busiest week of the year, so I suggest to book accommodations as soon as you can. Hotel suggestions can be found on the above pages.

Hi Amit-

There are Christmas markets in most of the larger towns.

The one in Zürich , at the main station, is good sized, with quite a bit of variety. I shop there every year, if I get to Switzerland at that time. There are also booths at various squares around the city.

The two largest are probably Basel and Montreux. (Note spelling.)

If you use the timetable, you can plan travel times:

The instructions page at that link is valuable, because the the timetable is multi-layered and full of information.. If you have questions after you have tried it out, please post again.
