    Hi,

    Great site !

My Husband and I are planning to visit Switzerland and are staying in Engelberg (4 nights) and Zurich (2 nights).

Day 1 Travel from Zurich to Engelberg and settle

    Day2 Mount Titlis

    Day 3 Jungfraujoch

    Day 4 Need a suggestions–day trip

Day 5 shift from Engelberg to Zurich, take a break in Lucerne and go around. Should we do Mt.Pilatus or lake cruise and going around Lucenre will be more interesting?

Day 6 Rhine falls and Zurich

With these attractions should we buy Swiss pass for 4 days or 8 days or more advisable to buy tickets for each train journey ? Any reservations needed, travel time is end of June.

    Thank you so much,

    MGM

Hi MGM and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Day 4: Have a look at the activity suggestions around Lucerne here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/lucerne/activiti es and around the Jungfrau region here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/jungfrauregion/a ctivities

You might also be interested in take a day trip to Bern or Montreux.

If you go to Montreux you could take the Golden Pass route from Lucerne.

Day 5:You could go to Pilatus that day but you may not feel the need for another mountain trip. If not, I’d suggest exploring Lucerne and taking a boat cruise.

To know which pass (if any) is the best for your specific itinerary you need to plan out all trips you will make (train, bus, boat, cable car) and compare the prices for regular tickets to the rail pass price (and which routes/mountains are free or discounted). Once you have that information you can read our page here on how to choose the best rail pass. There is a spreadsheet there to help with the math. 🙂

Thank you for your quick reply 🙂

Will Engelberg to Jungfraujoch be a long ride(with changes of train) ? Also is it possible in one day?

Same for a day trip to Montreux , is it doable in a day from Engelberg?

    Thank you.

Yes, Engelberg to Jungfraujoch is a long trip (5 hours one-way).

Use the Swiss railways timetable to plan out all your trips: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

Engelberg to Montreux is about 3,5 hours one-way and longer if you go on the Golden Pass route.
