Hi ! everyone. This is our first time to Switzerland.

We plan to stay at Grindelward and Zermatt. During the stay, we will visit Jungfraujoch and Matterhorn as well. Can you tell us the summer weather condition up there in the mountain tops. What is the average climate in August?

hope we can have information helping us in selecting suitable clothings for the journey.

    Thank you

    Hi Laisofun8,

On a typical August day it will be pretty warm in the valleys and a few degrees above freezing point on high altitudes such as Jungfraujoch and Klein Matterhorn. It’s best to dress in layers for such visits so that you can adapt to dropping temperatures. A wind- and waterproof jacket is recommended, as well as solid shoes.

However, weather is highly unpredictable and there’s no way of telling what it will be like during your visit in August. Please refer to myswissalps.com/weathe r. You’ll find links to climate averages there.
