understand that most ( if not all the shops) are closed on sundays. Is there any supermarkets that is open on sunday in sept in St.Moritz area ? We will have one day there ( arrived the night before and most shop will be closed ) then next morning we will take Benina Express route to and fro Tirano and will leave early morning on GEX the next morning. Is there any place we could grab some snacks/foods/drinks for our train trip ?

    Hi KolaX,

As far as I know both Coop supermarkets will be closed, although you never know if that will change before September. More and more supermarkets open on Sundays throughout Switzerland. Sometimes part of the day only, sometimes the whole day. In any case there’s a kiosk at the train station and I am pretty sure it’s open 365 days per year. You can buy snacks on the train as well, but that will be more pricey.

By the way, if your Bernina Express trip is on a Saturday then I would think you could be back before 6 PM, when both Coop’s close.
