Hi! I will be in Switzerland from 10 to 14 Dec. If I take the 4 day Swiss Travel Pass, then getting a Supersaver pass for the fifth day would be practical, right? I will just be taking the train to Zurich Airport on the last day. When should I purchase the online Supersaver pass?

    Hi Cloudcatcher,

Yes, a supersaver ticket (not pass) would be the cheapest option. They aren’t always available and may not be available on the train you need to take to get to the airport either.

Use the timetable to check (the cheap tickets are marked with a % sign). You would have to check back continually to see from time to time if it pops up for your date/time or not.

Where are you starting your trip from? From Zurich a regular ticket is about 6 or 8 chf only.

    Hello Lucas,

We’ll be staying in Engelberg. I’m not sure if our Swiss Pass should begin on the first or second day when we arrive in Switzerland. There are 10 of us, 4 adults and 6 children.

ok, you could still find supersaver tickets to Zurich airport from Engelberg but again it isn’t on every train and the time you need may not have it available – keep checking (they are only available within 30 days of travel).

Pick the start date of the Swiss Travel Pass (and other passes you get) to cover the more expensive travel day (either the first day or last day of your trip) depending on your plans.
