Originally I planned Swiss Paris Trip for 12-25.05.2020 but due to covid-19 Outbreak, we could not travel in that period.

This time, we planned again from 01.05.2023-15.05.2023 and this forum has helped a lot, in planning trip and clarifying various doubts.

Before proceeding to Europe, we have already purchased a Swiss Travel Pass 8 Days (Complementary extension from 8 to 10 days as promotion) and our day wise experience is mentioned as below:

Day 1. We arrived at Geneva around 12:00 PM from Paris on 05.05.2023. We checked in at hotel and moved straight away to Montreux, visited River promenade and returned to Geneva on same day and Visited yellow Boat near Jet D eau and Flower Clock. Montreux River Promenade stroll was memorable

Day 2. We visited united Nations office Geneva from Outside in morning, visited near lake Geneva and proceeded further to Swiss Capital Bern on 06.05.2023. Checked in at Hotel, roamed around various streets of Bern, Zytglogge performance and in evening visited Gurten Pak and enjoyed Toboggan Ride there.

Day3. We visited Bern Cathedral and proceeded further for Interlaken. Checked in at backpackers villa sonnenhof and visited Harder kulm. View of Interlaken and its two lakes, was beautiful from above. After this, we went to beautiful Lauterbrunnen but could not move further to Murren because it started raining . Unluckily, after that day the transportation from Lauterbrunnen(Cable car Station opposite Lautebrunnen train station) to Murren, cable car/mountain train station was closed due to maintenance works. We could not visit Murren any day during our tenure.

Although, views in Lauterbrunnen were amazing. Later we returned back to Interlaken, backpackers villa hostel and cooked some indian food in complementary Kitchen. It was out of world experience as Koreans, Indians, Europeans all were cooking food together in same hall. Great Experience.

Day 4. We visited mighty Jungfraujoch and spent almost whole day. In morning it was sunny and in Lauterbrunnen, it was throwing some divine and positive vibes on sunny but chilly morning. We purchased tickets of Jungfrau from Lauterbrunnen and moved to Jungfrau. Beautiful Wengen village was adding its beauty to the trip. Later green landscapes were turning into White Snowy Mountains as we were approaching closer to Kliene Schidegg.

Soon, we arrived at Jungfraujoch and it was brightly sunny at its full fledge and we enjoyed a lot on this day with our son. Views of Glacier were amazing and later it started snowfall with sunlight still being present. It was first of its type experience in my life. We visited snow caves and other attractions available at Jungfrau. Tremendous hard work might have been indulged in construction rail path on such a height.

Later it became cloudy on top and we proceeded towards Interlaken via Lauterbrunnen. In evening we visited Yash Chopra Statue and rest of Interlaken. Interlaken is also adorn very much with natural Beauty.

Day 5: We visited Grindelwald First. We visited Cliff Walk and took some photos there. We have done two Activities-Mountain Cart and Trottibike. Mountain cart was a bit scary for me but Trotti Bike was surely the Highlight of the Day. A kind of Life time experience because green feilds enroute from Bort to Grindelwald along Trottibike Path was mesmerizing. I have never done such beautiful activity with trottibike (like bi-cycle) was moving at speed down the gradient on itself was great.

After this we returned to Interlaken and opted to go for Brienz Lake Cruise because weather again became cloudy and later it started raining. Grindelwald and Lake Brienze Cruise were also beautiful.

Day 6: On this day, on 10.05.2023 we visited Thun and Spiez. Both are beautiful and serene Towns. Blue Turquoise water is treat to watch. We had a plan to visit Grindelwald again but it was again cloudy weather throughout the day.

Day 7: On 11.05.2023, we said goodbye to Beautiful Interlaken and checked in at Ibis Luzern. It was again a rainy day so we could only visit Lion Monument, Glacier Garden and Chapell Bridge.

Day 8: On 12.05.2023, it was rainy and cloudy today also but we made our mind to visit mountain tops. We started with Mount Rigi. Views enroute from Base station Vitznau to Rigi kulm were spectacular although it would have been more clear on clear sunny day. Visibility from top of Rigi was almost zero. On return to Weggis See, it was partially sunny. Then we proceed to Mount Pilatus (not top because of being cloudy) upto Frakmuntegg for famous swiss Tobogganing but it started raining just as we reached so could not enjoyed the activity and returned after admiring views from Frakmuntegg.

Later, in Evening before sunset we visited Stansehorn open cable car and view from here(open cable car) were also Amazing but from top of Stansehorn, nothing was visible.

Stansehorn and Mount Rigi was complementary with Swiss travel Pass.

Day 9: We started early in morning on 13.05.2023 and visited Mount Titlis after checking TitlisWebcam, weather forecast and took a chance of Titlis being Sunny. To our good luck, Titlis top was sunny, we enjoyed there a lot, went to suspension bridge, Cave Garden and enjoyed various snow activities on sit skis, mini bobs etc. Also, enjoyed Ice Flyer.

Later, we came back to engelberg and then to Lucerne and proceeded further to Zurich. Immediately, after checking in at Green Marmot Hotel at Zurich, we proceeded immediately further to visit Beautiful Rhine Fall s. It was great to watch water flow with full force naturally and it was appearing white like Milk. We also availed services of Yellow Mandli Boats which escort to Middle rock located centrally in Fall. Amazing fun filled day, it was. Only bad luck, we experienced is that it was not sunny day in Zurich and we could not visit in Limmat River Cruise (glass Boat).

Day 10: It was the day scheduled for Bernina Express and it started as expected. Beautiful view started appearing in the way and we subsequently reached to alp Grum after passing through Bernina Pass but after reaching Alp Grum, our bad luck chased us again because Bernina Express could not travel beyond Alp Grum on 14.05.2023 because of damages in overhead Electric lines for Trains. Train reversed from alp Grum to Chur and did not proceed further to Tirano. Therefore we could not avail service of Bernina Bus from Tirano to Lugano alongside lake como. later we returned to Zurich. In evening we visited strolled along old Zurich Town as Limmat River cruise ride was closed by this time but Zurich city was looking Beautiful in Evening too.

Bernina Express Ride was free but only supplement of 38 CHF per person was paid as reservation fee (mandatory).

Day 11: We Purchased ticket for Zurich Airport (as Swiss Travel Pass was expired) and caught the flight for Helsinki and then to India.

Even after some traces of bad lucks, it was surely a Beautiful Beautiful trip to Gorgeous Switzerland. As many travelers have posted on this forum and other forums as well that Swiss People are very Friendly and are of very helpful nature like their Country and this is absolutely true.

Your trip sounds amazing. We are returning in October but I am late to the game and am buckling down to plan. We were there three days when I was on the bike and broke both of my knees. My husband hit a divot in the road and I heard him crash. (he was behind me) I tried to stopped quickly and I can’t remember if I hit the grass or jumped off. Spent a week in the hospital and had a 4 hour surgery on both knees. Needless to say, I have a little anxiety about the upcoming trip. (and I won’t be riding one again LOL)

Thank you so much. Just had toe surgery in February and that was due to the accident but yes, healed with pins in both knees. 🙈
