    Hi,

WOULD APPRECIATE SOME GUIDANCE ON SWISS FAMILY PASS AS REGARDS TO OUR TRIP (details below)…We are a family of 4 –2 adults and 2 kids ( ages 14 and 9 )

    1) Fly into Zurich – 2 nights stay in Zurich

    2) Go to Zermatt – 2 nights stay at zermatt

    3) Go to Montreux – 2 nights stay at Montreux ( We would like to do the Chocolate Train round trip from here)

    4) 2 nights at Grindelwald

    5) 3 nights at Lucerne

    6) back to Zurich and fly out of Zurich — total of 11 nights

—We r plAnning to buy the Swiss family card for the trip online using SBB SITE …

    — Are we supposed to buy 2 adult Swiss travel passes and then convert them to Swiss family pass on arrival ?

    — How do we make the Chocolate train reservations and does holding a Swiss travel pass in advance make a difference in prices while booking the Chocolate train tickets ?

    Any advice highly appreciated …

    Thanks in advance

Hi Shruts and welcome to MySwissAlps!

    1. You would buy one Swiss Travel Pass each for the adults and one Swiss Family Card which covers the 2 children – so 3 rail passes on total. The Swiss Family Card is a free add-on when you buy the Swiss Travel Passes.
    2. You can make reservations for the Chocolate train here. You indicate you have a Swiss Travel Pass when making the booking and you will get a discount here (you just need to have the Swiss Travel Pass and Family card before boarding the train, not at time of booking.

PS please avoid writing in all capital letters in the future – thanks!
