Hi, sorry if this has been asked before (re-posting). I plan to get a 3 day Swiss Travel Flex pass.

Question 1: I start in Milan and the first leg is Milan – Brig. I understand from other posts that I have to buy the Milan – Domodossola section. Domodossola – Brig is supposedly covered by the STP. However, from this map (https://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity) I see red dotted lines between Iselle di Tasquera – Brig. Does this mean this segment is only discounted and not fully covered? If such is the case, how do I pay the difference? In Milan when buying the ticket for Domodossola or in the train when the conductor comes around?

Question 2: Suppose my pass is valid between July 13-August 13, and I plan to use the first TRAIN journey on July 20. Can I use the pass to get discounted CABLE CAR rides between July 13-19? Or are discounts only valid AFTER you have used up one flexiday on the pass (in this case on or after July 20)?

Question 3: Do online print outs of the pass need validation before use? If yes, how do I do that in Milan?

    Hi Binkytravels,

    1. The red dotted lines just refer to tunnels (be sure to look at the legend on the top left of the map). So no worries, it is fully covered).
    2. No, you must use a travel day on the Swiss Travel Pass flex to get free or discounted travel.
So you have 3 days to get free or discounted train rides on a 3 day Swiss Travel Pass Flex
    3. No, you shouldn’t need to validate the Swiss Travel Pass Flex once you have bought it – read more details on how to use the pass here.

Cheers and thanks for moving your post! 🙂
