Hi Dvk1971 and welcome to MySwissAlps!

    You can do either.

You can buy tickets for train trips around Switzerland online: https://www.myswissalp s.com/traintickets/swi tzerlandhalffare or buy them as you go at each station or on the SBB mobile app if you will have a smartphone and a SimCard or WiFi Hotspot

    https://www.myswissalp s.com/simcard

You can buy your Swiss Half Fare Card online (along with the free Swiss Family Card) here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisshalffarecar d/price
It would be more convenient to buy the card online. It can be emailed to you and printed at home (saving you time at the airport and giving you a copy to print out again in case you lose your pass).

Thanks Lucas. I can buy tickets at the counters on the station as well I believe?

Also during my trip to Interlaken, I want to cover Lake First and Bachalpsee. Can both these lakes be covered on the same day? Also how do i travel from Interlaken to these lakes and what would be the cost?

    Thanks

    Deepak

Yup you can buy at stations as noted before: or buy them as you go at each station. 🙂

I’m not sure what Lake First is. If you mean the Lake at First mountain that is the Bachalpsee. 🙂

The timetable can show you how long it takes to get to First and how much it is. The first price you’ll see is the Swiss Half Fare Card price. https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

    Thanks Lucas

yes it is the First mountain and not the Lake.i am spending 4 nights in Interlaken out of which one day I am planning Jungfraujoch and one Schilthorn. Can you pls advise what else can be covered in the balance two days

I am covering Mount Titlis from Lucerne

Further if I buy Swiss travel half care card and Swiss family pass along with it then my 12 year old daughter would travel free on trains, cogwheel trains, cable cars. Pls confirm

    Thanks

    Deepak

    Hi Deepak,

There are some great activities in the Jungfrau region for you and your family to choose from. Interlaken has good train connections to get around easily.

See here for our recommendations: https://www.myswissalp s.com/jungfrauregion/a ctivities

Yes, your daughter would travel free with you on the Swiss Family Card if you have the Swiss Half Fare Card (https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisshalffarecar d)

Read about the Swiss Family Card here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swissfamilycard.
