    Hi N,

Welcome to the forum! I think you should be able to buy it there, but you should contact the local railways to be sure.

All purchase options are listed on the Swiss Half Fare Card page.

    Hi

i need some advice (like everyone else re: swiss card)

The two of us are arriving at Zurich airport and travelling to Grindenwald for 6 days. Whilst there we will be travelling to the jungfraujoch to climb the Monch summit. In addition we will have three to four days hiking around the area.

Should we buy a swiss card or a half-fare . ? i tried to work out the costs but got confused !

    Any help gratefully received

Should we book the train to jungfraujoch in advance as we need to be on the first train from grindelwald (about 7.00 in the morning)

    Many thanks

    Hi gever,

The Swiss Card would be most cost effective as it includes the relatively long trip to and from Grindelwald for free. The Jungfraujoch trip does not need to be reserved.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the advice. If i understand right then the Swiss pass also gives us discount of 25% to 50% on the Jungfraujoch trip and other bus and train journeys in the Grindelwald area.

    Is that corre ct ?

    Many thanks:-)

Hi Gever. I assume you mean the Swiss Card and not the Swiss Pass? The Swiss Card provides 50% discount on the Jungfraujoch trip and bus journeys around Grindelwald. The map under the link ‘Overview of the network on which the Swiss Card is valid’ at the Swiss Card page shows the area of validity.

Nathalie, you can buy the Half Fare Card at any train station in Switzerland, including the one at the Zurich airport or main train station.
