For Glacier Paradise, to order tickets online using a Half Fare Card, you have to have a Swiss Pass. At checkout, system asks for Swiss Pass ID.

Is in person the only way to buy and use the 30 day Half Fare Card? Or is it not possible.

You can buy your tickets with the Swiss Half Fare Card and without the SwissPass: http://www.myswissalps.com/kleinmatterhorn/tickets. The official tourist webshop of SBB is listed there too.

Note, that SwissPass and Swiss Travel Pass are not the same: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/swisspass.
