We are two families travelling to Switzerland. We are travelling from India (4 adults- grandparents and us) and my sister in law family (2adults & 2children) are travelling from USA.

CHildren are less than 15 years.

My sister in law and her husband will leave for USA 2 days prior.

So can we book The tickets for children along with us rather than with their parents.

So can we book children’s ticket with their grandparents rather than with their parents.

We want to book the Swiss Travel pass. But we want to include the children in our ticket rather than with children’s parents

Hi Harsha, and welcome to MySwissAlps!

As the Swiss Family Card is free, you may as well order one that can be used when the children are with their parents. This is not valid for children travelling with grandparents or other relatives though.

For the time after their parents have left, and they are travelling with grandparents or other relatives, you will need to purchase a Children’s Co-travelcard for each of them, at a cost of CHF 30 each. Please note that a separate travelcard is needed for every combination of child and accompanying person, so whoever you pick to be the accompanying adult will need to be with them on every trip. Otherwise you will need to buy separate cards for other adult/child combinations.

Hi HarshaB and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Will the children’s parents also have Swiss Travel Passes? If all the adults will have a Swiss Travel Pass then you only need to order (free) the Swiss Family Card at the same time. Then the kids travel free everywhere. and then they aren’t booked under anyone so to speak – just free. 🙂

If the parent’s won’t have the STP or you have the kids without the parents then you need the children’s co-travelcard

You’ll need a Children’s Co-TravelCard as mentioned by Alpenrose for those two days (I see we replied at the same time – can get a little confusing when that happens!)
