Hi Forum Members,

I have Swiss pass valid for 15 days. Do i need to show the pass at the train counter to get my boarding tickets to board the inter region trains for example lugano to lucerne? or can i just get into the train with the swiss passes?

Thanks in advance

The ticket should be activated first prior to the commencement of train journey. Hence this should be shown in any railyway station. Subsequently you can tranvel. Best of luck - Dr Naji

Hi sanushks. In some cases your Swiss Pass has to be validated at a railway station indeed, as pointed out by Dr. Naji. In other cases you can write personal information on the pass to validate it; this differs per reseller. It's indicated as the 'Quick transfer' option in our reseller overview. Anyway, once your pass is validated, you can simply board all trains, buses and boats in which free traveling is granted (download the validity map from the Swiss Pass page for an exact overview) without prior procedures or extra tickets. Just show your Swiss Pass when asked for by the train conductor. If traveling is discounted, you have to buy a discounted ticket first before boarding.
