    Hello,

I’ve read through several pages of posts here but can’t seem to find the answer to whether or not it is considered a Free Travel day if I use my pass to purchase a discounted ticket.

For example, I will be in Wengen and will want to travel around the area, and possibly up to Jungfraujoch. Since the journey from Wengen to Jungfraujoch is not fully covered by the pass, and I need to purchase a discounted ticket, is this considered 1 day of use of my pass? Or is it not considered a day since I’m paying for a discounted ticket?

Also, if I don’t travel on any transportation and only use the pass to enter a museum, does that use up my pass for 1 day as well?

    Thanks,

    twygee

Hi Twygee and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Are you talking about the Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Travel Pass Flex? Flex I am guessing?

With the STP Flex you use a travel day when you buy a discounted ticket or get a free museum entrance yes.

For the regular Swiss Travel Pass…well it is valid on consecutive days from whatever your Day 1 is. So you use a “travel day” whether you travel or not.

Or to put it another way to what Lucas said, the Swiss Travel Pass Flex is only valid for ANYTHING on a day on which you have written the date in one of the boxes. Bummer isn’t it.
