    Hi Guys,

I searched the forum but couldn’t find an answer to my question.

If I missed it, I’m sorry.

I purchased a Thee day Swiss Travel Pass early last month for my family of four from a place not listed on your recommendations. I wasn’t sure if I should list the company name here. I thought they would have sent the passes out via mail since I paid for that option at the time of purchase. When I didn’t receive it a couple of weeks later, I emailed them and they informed me they can not issue them until 4 months of departure date. We will be in Zurich on 8/1. From what I found on here, is that they ship them out shortly after purchase. I don’t know if this is a legit company, and it would be 60 days after I paid for them on my credit card. I wouldn’t be able to contest the charge if they never send the passes.

Am I wrong to feel this way?

    Any advise is appreciated,

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! Where did you purchase? Perhaps I’ve heard of them despite they’re not on our list of trusted retailers.

    Hi Paul,

I’ve seen that site before but I don’t really know them. I think they don’t sell passes but re-route orders to actual retailers like http://www.swissrailways.com/ en (the official SBB tourist web shop). To be sure you’ll best contact them and ask. In any case, it is not uncommon that pass orders will only be e-mailed a few months before your trip if you order well in advance. Passes simply can’t be issued any sooner.

That site (www.swiss-pass.ch) is run by the Swiss Travel Centre stc.ch/en/

I assumed it was run by the STC because that is the contact email they provide at https://www.swiss-pass.ch/imprint/

May be worth checking with STC just to be on the safe side.

Yes. I did get an email back from a person with the Swiss Travel Centre.

When I signed up they asked for our names but never for DOB or passport numbers. I’m assuming they don’t need that? You just have to show them if your asked for it on a train?

    Hi Paul,

If they didn’t ask for those details you have most probably ordered a physical pass, to be shipped to you. With e-mail delivery they always ask for date of birth and passport numbers as they need to include those on the pass. A Swiss Travel Pass physically delivered to you is rare nowadays but it can still be done. It will have a few blank fields that you need to fill out to validate the pass. It is explained here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/howtouse.

    Hi Rockoyster,

It looks like it is run by an private marketing organization called Qmarketing, but they show the same booking engine as the official SBB web shop at http://www.swissrailways.com/ en, which is operated by STC (owned by SBB). So it should indeed all be fine.

I believe I had to have it shipped because I was getting the family card and it stated that couldn’t be printed out. I would have preferred just printing out at home.

    Thanks for all your help.

I’m not sure what happened there as the Swiss Family Card can be printed at home as well. At least nearly all the partner sites on our list can.

In any case it should all be fine. Enjoy the rides, and Switzerland!
