    Hello All,

In about 3 weeks we will be coming to visit Switzerland. Our lodging accommodations are already taken care of and our itinerary is as follows. We will travel from Zurich to Lucerne, Lucerne to Interlaken, Interlaken to Zermatt and then Zermatt to Florence Italy. Its my understanding that the Swiss rail pass will take us everywhere we need to go in Switzerland but does anyone have any advice on how we should plan or trip to Florence? Thanks so much for your time.

    Jason

    Hello-

When checking for train tickets in Italy check out the italotreno.it private trains. Check their Twitter account for coupons when I booked I found a 40% off coupon code.

Hi Jason, and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can plan your trip using the Swiss Timetable:

    http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

You will most likely go via Domodossola, and your Swiss Travel Pass will be valid till there. For the rest of the trip from Domodossola to Florence, you will need a separate ticket.

There is information here that will assist you:

For your travel in Switzerland with the Swiss Travel Pass, you can download a map from the link below, showing what is covered. As explained in the legend on the map, red lines are trains, yellow lines are buses, black lines are cable cars, white lines are boats. Solid lines are free, dotted lines are discounted. Discounts are mostly 50%, but only 25% for transport where you see the number “1” inside circle near the dotted line. There are a few grey lines on the map as well, which indicate transport that is not covered by the Swiss Travel Pass.
