I have purchased a Swiss Rail pass for my vacation in Switzerland. We will be traveling from Zurich to Lucerne, Interlaken, then on to Lake Como Italy. Since I will be crossing the border, I assume I will need to buy another ticket to Como. What is the closest Swiss train station to Como? Is it best to take a bus from a border town to Como?

Hi Lnbsmith and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Do you mean the Swiss Travel Pass? It will depend on where you are going on Lake Como….you may go through Lugano and then the border town would be Chiasso probably.

Sorry Lucas, yes the Swiss Travel Pass. And we’ll be staying in Como.

    Hi Lnbsmith,

Ok then, you will need a ticket from Chiasso to Como only then.
