    Good day

Need some help please. Does the swiss transfer ticket cover all legs of the train journey from Lausanne to Zermatt, and then from Zermatt to Lugano? Travelling between 2 and 5 July. Trying to determine whether point 2 point tickets, or swiss transfer ticket would be the cheapest option.

    Thanks!

Hi dlanghd, and welcome to MySwissAlps,

A Swiss Transfer Ticket covers your transfer from the airport/border to any Swiss town (and back) . You can’t use this ticket when you start your trip in Lausanne. Read here more about how to use the Swiss Transfer Ticket.

An option to consider is a Saver Day Pass. If you buy them at the right price between 30 and 10 days before travel it should cost you CHF52 each to go pretty much anywhere (apart from mountain railways and cable cars).

More information about other passes can be found here.

    Hi Dlanghd,

Good news: I found a few exceptions to the “border station” rule. You can start or end your trip from Zurich HB, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne or Lugano too. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstransferticket/vali dity.
