    Hi Guys,

I am travelling to Switzerland from 5 May to 9 May. Below is the itinerary. Two questions where I need some help.

    1. Is this feasible? and where can I catch Glacier Express from Interlaken: at Visp or Brig?

    2. What would be the best option for travel (travel pass, half fare card or individual tickets)?

    05-May Geneva to Interlaken

06-May Interlaken to Grindewald (Day Trip)

07-May Interlaken to Jungfrau (Day Trip)

08-May Interlaken to Visp/Brig (to catch Glacier Express towards St Moritz)

08-May Visp/Brig to St Moritz (Stay overnight and next day fly back from Zurich)

    09-May St Moritz to Zurich

Any suggestions for things to do would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi Manik and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can catch the Glacier Express in Brig or Andermatt. Use the Swiss railways timetable to find the trains and connections. The Glacier Express is labeled as the GEX. You must make reservations on the Glacier Express trains (you can also take the same trip on local regional trains too though).

Probably the Swiss Travel Pass but the Swiss Half Fare Card could work ok too…but to know which pass is the best for your specific itinerary you need to plan out all trips you will make (train, bus, boat, cable car) and compare the prices for regular tickets to the rail pass price (and which routes/mountains are free or discounted).

Once you have that information you can read our page here on how to choose the best rail pass. There is a spreadsheet there to help with the math. 🙂
