Hi Jo,
The start date is fixed once you’ve ordered your pass. You can’t change it then. You’d have to cancel and buy a new pass. For the specific procedure you’d best contact the retailer you bought from.
tanveerParticipant9 posts16 November 2021 at 20:25:32 #937210Hello,
However this offer isn’t being reflected in the SBB website.
Swiss Pass for 3 days there is being offered at CHF 232.00 and in this wbesite shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com; its being offered at CHF 174.00
It’s a bit puzzling why the discount of 25% is not being reflected in the SBB.ch website.
Screen shot of the same is attached along with this query.
It will be nice, if someone throws light on this matter.
Warm regards,
Tanveer Shaikh

The main SBB website is geared to Swiss residents, not to tourists. Swiss Travel Pass is for tourists only. The SBB ticket website for tourists is the one you already mentioned: https://shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com/#/en/home. You’ll find the SBB logo in the bottom of the website.
So, if you prefer to buy from SBB you’d need to go to https://shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com/#/en/home. But there are other websites where you can buy the same offer as well. They’re listed here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/promotions.
For your reference: SBB is the biggest but not the only rail operator in Switzerland: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/practical/railcompanies. The Swiss Travel Pass covers all trains by all operators.
roblivParticipant5 posts17 November 2021 at 7:31:47 #937212Hi Arno! I purchased my passes for my family on your happy rail link. I have the SBB mobile app on my phone. Is there any way to upload or link my happy rail passes to my phone so I will have easy digital access and not have to carry around the PDF tickets?
Thanks for all of you help!

robliv
ArnoModerator15471 posts17 November 2021 at 7:38:28 #937213Hi Robliv,
Welcome to MySwissAlps. I’m glad to hear you were able to take advantage of the offer! You can store the pass on your phone. There is no link between the SBB app and the pass, nor do you need them to be linked: the app is handy to check train schedules, and the pass is what you need to show to the train staff on request. It’s two separate things. More details are here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/howtouse.
Enjoy your trips!
roblivParticipant5 posts17 November 2021 at 7:43:55 #937214Understood, thanks Arno! Now if I could only get the weather to cooperate …. we’re hitting Luzern, Interlaken, Zermatt, Montreux and Bern. Trying to figure out what to do in those places, especially Interlaken and Zermatt, in 1 degree Celsius and rain/snow (Nov 23-30)! Is there a good forum on here to figure that out? Thanks so much! robliv

GrovesiaParticipant4 posts18 November 2021 at 17:40:47 #937216Hi
I was getting ready to purchase a 15 day pass for a trip this summer. Now I am second guessing if this is the best thing.
Here’s a quick itinerary summary:
2 nights Montreux
2 nights Zermatt
7 nights Grindelwald or Wengen
3 nights Lucerne
We plan to do Jungfraujoch, First and Schielhorn which aren’t covered by Swiss Travel Pass fully, but seem to be fully covered by the Jungfrau pass. Do you think it instead makes sense to do a Swiss travel pass for 4 days, then do a Jungfrau pass for 7 days, then do another Swiss travel pass for 3 day pass?
Thanks in advance.
AnnaModerator6274 posts19 November 2021 at 6:27:49 #937217Hi Grovesia,
If you’re planning to explore the Jungfrau region extensively during your trip, the regional Jungfrau Travel Pass might be practical and convenient. You can certainly combine this with your choice of Swiss Travel Pass to cover the rest of your journey exploring other parts of Switzerland. To help you choose the best combination, have a look at this step-by-step guide to compare and calculate your cost:http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/chooserailpass

ArnoModerator15471 posts20 November 2021 at 7:36:04 #937218Hello Grovesia,
To be sure, you should do the math via the link that Anna suggested. But keep in mind that buying a 3-day and 4-day Swiss Travel Pass together costs exactly the same as a 15-day Swiss Travel Pass. So the Jungfrau Travel Pass would be 100% extra costs in your example. It’s probably not a good idea but the math will reveal the cheapest option 🙂
GreeeenParticipant1 post24 November 2021 at 13:15:42 #937219Hi,
Does anyone know why I cant choose a date further then december on the JUNGFRAUJOCH when trying to get the Swiss Travel Pass`?
Also, a side quistion – whick route should I choose, If I dont want to ride the cable car?
Regards Greeen
Removed userParticipant72625 posts24 November 2021 at 16:06:17 #937220Hi Green,
I recommend you only buy the tickets to the Jungfraujoch once you are sure the weather is clear enough to enjoy the view (see more details about the Jungfraujoch at http://www.myswissalps.com/jungfraujoch/tickets) If you would like to avoid the cable cars, you can travel from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch via Lauterbrunnen or via Grindelwald. See at http://www.myswissalps.com/jungfraujoch/gettingthere option 1 and option 2. You need to avoid only the Interlaken-Grindelwald-Eigergletscher route (option 3 on that page).

Iam counting days to visit Switzerland third time this time i am interested to go Chamonix so Please tell me is there anyway to use swiss travel pass for travelling to swiss pass only i read i can get 50% discount with swiss travel pass for cable car and trian. Thanks
Removed userParticipant72625 posts25 November 2021 at 17:10:06 #937222Hi Naeemmalik and welcome to MySwissAlps.com,
Swiss Travel Pass is only valid in Switzerland (see the validity map at http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity) and Chamonix is already in France. You need to buy your tickets from the Swiss-French (Le Châtelard-Frontière) border to Chamonix. You can buy it here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/france.
I hope this helps,

Paulng1080Participant11 posts2 December 2021 at 1:50:11 #937223I am ready to order 15 days Swiss Pass for next May. However, given the current Covid environment, no one is sure about next May travel. I have to find out the cancellation policy and the reliability of the provider. I understand that your forum has suggested to purchase the pass through STC or Happy Rail. Are both companies third party provider or STC a direct subsidiary of SBB? In case of refund due to cancellation (within the policy limit), which company offers refund without any hassle? any charges/fee for refund? Which company offers discounts for group of 7 passes?
Thank you for your advice!
Paul
ArnoModerator15471 posts2 December 2021 at 6:43:24 #937224Hi Paul,
All web shops listed here offer the promotion and are trusted: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/promotions. I have never heard about one of them refusing to comply with their own cancellation policy. Yes, cancellation is free for this promotion. Web shops can decide themselves if they will charge a small processing fee anyway. From the top of my head none of the listed ones do this, but do check any fine print yourself.
Switzerland Travel Centre is part of SBB, the Swiss Federal Railways: https://shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com/#/en/home
HappyRail is a partner of SBB like all the others who sell these passes: https://www.happyrail.com/en/pass/europe/switzerland/swiss-travel-pass-consecutive
Both have been in business for years, so no problems there.
As for groups, please see http://www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses/practical/groupdiscounts. I’m quite sure there is no discount on top of the promotion though. If you decide not to buy now you will be able to get a (small) discount on bigger orders on top of the lower pass prices next year: http://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/changes-to-the-swiss-travel-system-passes-in-2022. It’s unlikely to be a better price than this promotion though.
I hope this helps!
Removed userParticipant72625 posts3 December 2021 at 19:05:44 #937225I just ordered two STP rail tickets to get the 25% discount. I ordered one for my husband and one for myself. My husband has a middle name noted on his passport and his middle initial on the credit card used to purchase the tickets. Both areas of the online forms (ticket holder names and credit card holder name) have a box for First Name and Last Name. I did not enter his middle name or middle initial anywhere. Was I supposed to add it in the First Name field? Since I didn’t will this be a problem once we get to Switzerland and board the train? We aren’t going until Sept. 2022.
AnnaModerator6274 posts3 December 2021 at 22:15:28 #937226Hi Julianagen,
I don’t think this will be an issue if the first and last names on the tickets match those on your passports. If you are concerned, you can always validate the tickets personally at any manned Swiss train station so any discrepancies can be noted in the system.
You’ll find more info here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/howtouse

Anna
Removed userParticipant72625 posts4 December 2021 at 1:41:32 #937227Anna,
I found the following comment under this group of replies. So I’m concerned that once I’m in Switzerland that my husband’s ticket won’t pass muster due to his middle name being on his passport but not on his ticket. The http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/howtouse link does not address this. You state I will be able to validate at a manned train station. This is good to know. But I’m still worried once there, I can’t fix this issue. Yes, I overly worry about things like this. I purchased the tickets through the Switzerland Travel Center (STC). I see they have an email address listed as backoffice@stc.ch. I am thinking of emailing them to ask if I need to change the name or not. Has anyone emailed them? If so, how long did it take to get a response? I purchased the tickets today. Have not received any documents yet (have checked my spam folder). How long can I expect it to take to receive the pdf via my email?

Hi Ms. Orbit,
Your passport number is not printed on the pass (see http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/howtouse), nor should the website you buy from ask for it. Passport numbers were required in the past when passes were still printed on paper. Currently you only need your birth date and full name, exactly as it is printed on your passport. As long as your name does not change, your new passport will be just fine.”
