Hello,

We are a family of 7 ( 6 adults and 1 child 13 yrs old) will arrive to Luzern on 06/19 and one way travel to Lake Como on 06/23 .

I would like to have advises regard should we get Travel Pass for better option.

Also what is the best logistic to get to Lake Como by Bernina Express. This is our first time in Switzerland.

Thanks.

Hello Tamle and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Como is quite a large lake. It depends which part you are going to.

You can take the Bernina Express(www.myswissalps.com/be rninaexpress) from Chur to Tirano or continue through to Lugano.

From Lugano you can easily reach the town of Como. From Tirano the train to Milan runs along the eastern shore of Lake Como.

Use the Swiss Train Timetable (www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you haven’t used it before it will pay to read the instructions on that page before delving into the timetable.

A clearly mapped out itinerary is the basis for deciding which pass (if any) suits. Based on your itinerary you need to do the sums based on the cost of all your planned trips on trains, boats, cable cars etc. You can use the Swiss Train Timetable (www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to work out the fares for any trip. When you go to buy a ticket the fare you see on the right hand side of the page will normally be the half-fare price. Double it to get full fare. With A Swiss Travel Pass it is free provided it is shown as free on the Area of Validity map ( PDF downloadable from www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity).

You should read “How to choose the best travel pass” (www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass), download the handy spreadsheet calculator and do the math.
