I reach Zurich on 27 th june 2018 and after 5 days stay in switzerland I travel to Paris by train. Please tell me how much in advance should I buy the swiss travel pass and my ticket for paris from Luzern.
Also for train journey from luzern to paris via Basel….. there is indication of constrction work on the route…..**`.Between Gelterkinden and Tecknau on the line Basel SBB – Olten, engineering work is in progress. Moreinformation`**
Can I still book tickets on this route ? If not please suggest an alternative plan considering that I wish to travel by TGV.

Hi Sanghvis and welcome to MySwissAlps!

I would buy your Swiss Travel Pass online as soon as your dates are confirmed. It will be emailed to you to print at home (and then you have an electronic back up as well) https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ price.

Will your Swiss Travel Pass be valid on your last day? If so you only need to book from Basel to Paris: https://www.myswissalp s.com/traintickets/fra nce

It doesn’t sound like they know what delays may happen (if any) on that rail construction are (4 km section). It says to check the morning of departure to see if there are any delays or cancellations. Worst-case, you could also travel from Lucerne to Basel via Zurich or Bern to avoid that if needed. Or they will have alternative services without that much of a detour.
