I will really appreciate some advise with the following:

Day 1 – We are visiting Lucerne from Zurich to go to Mt. Pilatus and then to Interlaken

Day 2 – Interlaken to Schilthorn

Day 3 – Interlaken to Jungfraujoch

Day 4 – Interlaken to Montreux in Golden Pass and from there to Gruyeres and back to Montreux

Day 5 – Montreux to Venice

We are two adults and three kids below 16. Is it advisable to take the Swiss travel pass? Should we take the 8 days since they don’t have 5 day pass? Finally, from Montreux to Venice the only train possible seems to be TrainItalia. Is swiss travel pass accepted on train italia and will we get the discounts for adults and kids on the Train italia from Montreux to Milan and Milant to venice?

I will really appreciate any advise please.

A Swiss Travel Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass) could work for you but you won’t know for sure until you read “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass), download the handy spreadsheet calculator and do the math. Hint: I’m guessing the answer will be yes.

From Montreux to Domodossola you would be covered by a Swiss Travel Pass but since you will probably only have a 4-day pass you might look at a Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/on edaytravelpass/details) and bit.ly/2rkekat for your last day in Switzerland. You will then need to buy a separate ticket Domodossola to Venice.

Use the SBB Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on that page.

Hi iappy,

Do note, the train name, brand etc. doesn’t matter. Your rail pass is valid on any train on an route that the rail pass covers. As Rockoyster notes a Swiss Travel Pass is valid to the Italian border (Domodossola) and it is valid on any train to Domodossola from Montreux.
