Hey there buddy, our travel dates are from the 31 Mar 2020 – 04 Apr 2020 (5 days), do you know if we would still be entitled to the 4-day + 1 day free pass covering all 5 days?

Hi Stepheng,
Welcome to MySwissAlps.
The offer is valid if you purchase your railpass before 31 March 2020 from the listed websites above.

What if someone books the rail pass promo offer from the australia or new zealand website, and not actually being a resident, how will it impact them, as there is no check on resident status?

Hi Stepheng,
Note that your pass can only start on April 1, not earlier.

Hi Seplpsc,
Thanks for joining MySwissAlps! You will need to fill out your passport number and country while purchasing, and this will be checked randomly on board the trains. The Swiss Travel Pass is only valid if you can produce the passport as well.

Hi Arno,
Shame. Thank you anyway for clarifying!

Hi Arno – is this promotion applicable for people who are residents of Australia due to employment but holds passport of other countries (not Australian). If yes, what happens if the travellers show passport of their countries when checked randomly?

Hi Nitya,
Based onArno’s explanation, I think you need to be a resident and also hold a passport from said countries.

Hi Amo,
I’m planning to buy the Swiss Travel pass promotion that included 2 days extra for 8 days price but the terms and condition is not refundable but if I buy the rail protection plan can I get a refund? Missyjay

Hi Missyjay,
Welcome to MySwissAlps! The Rail Europe terms say “Promotional passes follow normal exchange and refund conditions”, so it looks like you can get a refund, which is normally 85% of the pass price. But please check with Rail Europe to be sure. Also check your travel insurance if they cover cancellation and under which conditions.
