    Hi,

I am having swiss travel pass. There are different types of Cruise in Lake like sunset cruise, breakfast cruise etc.

All these are free under swiss pass? or any specific cruise is free?

Out of Thun lake and Brinz lake, which one would you recommend to visit?

You can do both lakes in one day, they are not all that big, especially if you go one way by boat and one way by train.

The ‘breakfast’ and ‘sunset’ ‘cruises are just branding tags for ordinary boat sailings dubbed according to the time of day they run and the route they take on the lake, but all the boats are really the same.

Here is the full PDF timetable:

As long as a journey is shown in this timetable it will be valid on the Swiss Pass

Yes, it is the route that is important – see PDF map here for the Swiss Travel Pass: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ validity

Any food on the cruise won’t be included though with your Swiss Travel Pass. You can inquire on the boat to see if a discount is available. I believe another member mentioned that he got a discount on a food cruise on Lake Geneva…but another lake and another company. 🙂

All the regular boat services are free with your Swiss Travel Pass, and you can choose whether you like to purchase food and drinks on board. Special cruises with lunch/dinner buffets need to be booked in advance and you should get a discount with the pass.

We took a cruise on lake Luzern which cost us an additional 16CHF, with Swiss Travel Pass because it was a sightseeing cruise with commentary. The cruise from Alpnachstad, just point to point, was included.

Both Lake Thun and Brienz looked beautiful from the train .
