Hi Zeto,
You can find the validity map of the Swiss Travel Pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity.
You get the following discount with your Swiss Travel Pass on the Pilatus Golden trip:
- Cableway/train from Kriens or Alpnachstad to Pilatus: 50% off
- Train to Lucerne or Alpnachstad: free
- Bus from Lucerne to Kriens: free
The discounted cableway/train ticket you can buy it here: http://www.myswissalps.com/pilatus/tickets. I recommend getting the tickets from STC (the official SBB tourist webshop): https://shop.switzerlandtravelcentre.com/en/product/excursionPilatus.
Pro tip: Do not get your mountain transport ticket too early. In case of bad weather, you might want to change your itinerary. Buy your ticket 1 day in advance, after checking the weather forecast (http://www.myswissalps.com/weather/forecast).
Take care,
Ildiko

I understand that there is a Golden and Silver Roundtrip ticket options. Just to clarify, if we go on the website (STC), it says it will cost 36 chf with the STP. Is this correct? Also, in 2022 the cogwheel train from Alpnachstad did not operate until May 26. We will be there May 4, 2023. What mode of transportation will be provided in lieu of the cogwheel train?
Thanking you in advance,
Louise

The cogwheel train never operates before end of May. In early May, the only way to reach Pilatus is through Kriens using the gondolas and cable way. No Silver or Gold Round Trips possible.
Your STP grants free bus transfer Lucerne to Kriens and back. For the gondola/cable way you pay CHF 36 for a return ticket. See what Ildiko has written above.
Consider visiting Mt. Rigi instead. It also offers a round trip, has by far better views, and the entire trip, including the scenic boat trip to Lucerne-Vitznau, is all covered by the STP.

Thank you Trainliner. Good to know. I already have a day planned to visit Mt Rigi.
