Good day. Our family; 2 adults and 2 children, will be traveling to Switzerland this coming June and would like to clarify a couple points. We will travel from Paris to Basel on June 15th per TGV Lyria. We have purchased those tickets already. Once we arrive In Basel we plan on utilizing the Swizz Travel pass for further transportation. We will change trains in Basel and continue travel to Lucerne. We plan on staying in Lucerne for 3 nights and than travel to Interlaken. We plan on staying in Interlaken for 2 nights and than travel to the Geneva airport. My understanding is that by utilizing the Swiss travel pass we should be able to just jump on any of the above connecting trains/routes and show our pass upon request without having to make seat reservations. Is that correct or will we need to make reservations for any of the trains/routes from Lucerne to Geneva?

    Thank you for the help

Hi Bright629 and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You are correct, no seat reservations required or needed in Switzerland (with our without your Swiss Travel Pass). You can simply hop on any train you wish and show the pass when asked.

Please note if you plan on visiting some mountains such as Jungfraujoch, the Swiss Travel Pass only covers a portion of the trip (25% discount from the town of Grindelwald or Wengen to Jungfraujoch).

The pass will cover trains to these towns from elsewhere in Switzerland so you just need to buy a pass from those towns to Jungfraujoch.

Take a look at the where its valid page for the STP here.

    Regards,
    Lucas
