Hi Twistedman and Welcome to MySwissAlps,
When you say you are looking on “the website” do you mean the SBB Ticket Shop? http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable
If you have a Swiss Travel Pass then you don’t need a reservation or a ticket for the trip from Interlaken to the Swiss Border (Domodossola or Chiasso depending on which way you go).
If you use the SBB ticket shop you can reserve a seat and ticket from the Swiss border to Milan. In the booking process you will be asked what reductions you are claiming in Switzerland. You won’t find the Swiss Travel Pass but you will see GA 2nd class (or something like that) which is the Swiss domestic equivalent. Select that.
You don’t need a Swiss Travel Pass in order to make a reservation but it is much more convenient to order on-line and print at home before you arrive in Switzerland.

Hi Rockoyster,
When I said “I am looking on the website” means Trenitalia ticket shop http://www.trenitalia.com. On that website I was asked to provide Swiss Pass Travel Number.
If it’s on the SBB Ticket Shop, is GA 2nd Class 1 year reduction equal to Swiss Travel Pass?
Thank you for your information!

Correct. I’m not familiar with the Trenitalia website.

Hi Twistedman,
Note that Swiss Pass and Swiss Travel Pass are not the same thing. Swiss Pass is for Swiss residents, so you can ignore anything related to that: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/swisspass.
Indeed you can pick GA 2nd class, or simply buy a ticket from Domodossola to Milano without a discount from any online retailer. That’s all you need. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/italy.
Have a good trip!
