Hi,

Greetings!!!! This is my first post in this site. I have found much useful information on this site.

Sorry i might be asking a question which might have posted here already. I have gone through similar posts but could not find much info.

I am planning to travel to Switzerland on 22nd Sep.I am planning to buy online with online delivery option for the 4 day swiss travel pass.

1) The website says that “Online Ticket. Your order will be processed and a PDF link for printing your ticket will be sent to your email address at least 7 workings days prior to departure, unless your order was received less than 7 days before. Please remember to check your Spam Folder, should you not receive our email with the PDF link in the stipulated time.” So if book the pass online on 16th Sep will i not receive it before 22nd Sep. How many days of processing time is needed?

2) Which is the official site for booking the travel pass. Is it SBB or http://www.swissrailways.com?

3) Are there any offers or e-vounchers to travel pass?

I am also visiting Switzerland from 30th Sept to 6th Oct. From one of the post I found that Rail Europe India is offering 1 day free with 4 days pass for residents of India. If you happen to live in Mumbai or nearby you can try that , but do not by courier as it may not deliver till you leave.

We have further travels plans to Italy,Spain n Paris before we come back to India. Since tour trip is aweek ahead of ours can you post your experience here and a copy to me at <removed>@gmail com.

If you buy on-line the PDF usually arrives within hours rather than days.

You’ll find the Swiss Travel Pass purchase options listed here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price. SBB is the domestic website, http://www.swissrailways.com/ en is the SBB tourist webshop, so that’s the easiest one to go to. You can ignore that confusing text, they just mean to say that if you order well in advance (more than 7 days) they will email the pass at least 7 days before you travel. In other cases, like yours, they email it asap.

Just go to their website and click to the Swiss Travel Pass to fill out the passengers and the start date. After filling out your address, they will show the delivery options. Pick “Online Ticket” from the bottom of the list. They will e-mail the pass within 1-3 business days, but normally within hours or even minutes.

Thanks all for your helpful advises..Another question that i have is that i am citizen of india but working in UK. So while booking the train pass should i mention india as my country or residence or great britain?

Please check details from web site of Rail Europe . They probably are offering the deal to residents of India. Please check before you decide.

Hi Vishnu,

The SBB webshop for the UK is http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk, but you can use the other one too. Your passport country would be India, but your billing address can be the UK as that’s where you live at the moment. Delivery address doesn’t really matter as the pass will be emailed, but I’d fill out the UK there as well. Just follow all the steps on either http://www.swissrailways.com/ en or http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk (if you prefer payment in GBP) to fill out all these details.
