Traveling from Bergamo, Italy to Lavertezzo and spending one night there. Then travel to Lauterbrunnen area with one night Lauterbrunnen and one night Murren. Last leg will be Murren to Frankfurt Germany. What is my best option? There are 2 of us traveling.

I would get a 3-day or 4-day Swiss Travel Pass to cover all your travel within the Swiss borders. Buy Italian and German tickets separately and in advance to get best prices. If you only get a 3-Day pass then you can probably get a cheap DB ticket from Bern or Interlaken to Frankfurt and just buy a ticket Mürren to one of those locations. The Eurail pass is not much good when you head into the Jungfrau region.

Look at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass and use the SBB Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on that page.

    See also http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/germany and http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/italy.

That’s an off the top of the head answer in case you are not into reading “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass), downloading the handy spreadsheet calculator and doing the math. 😎

    Hi mimi2mia,

Rockoyster has you all set, but I’d suggest not moving from Murren to Lauterbrunnen. They are near to eachother and saves you the hassle of moving hotels after just 1 night. I’d stay in Lauterbrunnen as it is easier to get to Interlaken for your onward journey to Frankfurt and visit Murren during your time in the area.

Use the Swiss railways timetable Rockoyster gave you, to plan out all your trips.

    Hi Mimi2mia,

Were you able to find out which rail pass best suited your itinerary? Do you need any further help or clarification?

Thanks for checking back in. I’m pretty sure we will do the 3 or 4 day pass. Just trying to get our exact schedule lined up. I’m thinking the 3 day will suffice since our only travel the third day would be Lauterbrunnen to Murren.

Yes I agree, I wouldn’t use a day on the Swiss Travel Pass for such a short trip! But a regular Swiss Travel Pass for 4 days is the better deal over the 3 day Swiss Travel Pass Flex, if that is what you are considering.

The 3 day will work best then. You can buy it online here to have it emailed to you for printing at home. https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ price
