Hi, my wife and I have purchased 15-day Swiss Travel Passes (STP). What is the most convenient way to purchase seat and fare class upgrades? Can it be done using the SBB Mobile app? Or would it be best done at a railway station? Or some other way?

Thank you in advance for your response.

    Hi Fogrover,

Class upgrade for a specific route can be purchased online from the SBB app. You can also purchase the upgrade from a ticket machine or directly from the ticket counter.

You can find related information here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/details

An upgrade can also be purchased from the train conductor. I did this two days ago on a Geneva – Brig train (sadly I am now back in London!)

    Hi 1960man,

Was there a price difference? Meaning, was it more expensive to buy it on board, as versus buying it at the station or on line?

    1960man,

    Thanks, that’s good to know.
