Hi everyone, I have some questions about STP pass and bus schedules:

1.Swiss Travel Pass: My sister is 24 years old 5 months , I’m confused whether I can purchase Youth STP for her?

    2. I’m looking at bus schedule from Innertkirchen to Handegg (BUS 171) , but the bus availability is different. In SBB website the bus is available in Morning, but in another website, the bus is only available after 1pm. Due to that I’m not sure whether I should book for morning or afternoon Gelmerbahn ride. Please find attached screenshot for your reference. Is it because the bus availability show in SBB includes other bus operator other than Post Bus?

    Thank you in advanced!

    Hi Manyis94,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

    1. The Swiss Travel Pass Youth is for travellers aged between 16 and 25, and clearly your sister fits this age group. So yes, you can purchase the STP Youth for her.
    2. I checked both timetables and find there are regular buses (Bus 171) running from Innertkirchen, Grimseltor to Handegg, Gelmerbahn. The first bus leaves at 7.58 am. The SBB timetable is usually quite reliable.

    Regards,

    Anna

It is true that the bus service 171 runs more in the afternoon than in the morning. However there are usually three – four Innertkirchen Handegg buses in the morning period , but there are some variations in the timings depending on season and date.

The official timetable PDF is here: http://www.fahrplanfelder.ch/fileadmin/fap_pdf_fields/2022/31.171.pdf

    Hi Manyis94!

The new age limit for the Swiss Travel Pass Youth is 24 (it used to be 25). As long as your sister is still 24 at the first day of the Swiss Travel Pass validity, she qualifies for the Youth version. Please see https://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price for details and purchase options.

The SBB timetable or its pdf versions linked to by 1960man are most reliable. This page explains how to use the timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable.
