Hi, I’m so confused by the Swiss travel passes, please could somebody help me choose which one I need. I just want to travel from Geneva Airport to grindelwald where I will be staying for 2 nights then I will be travelling back to Geneva. Which pass would be best? Many thanks,

Hello Deniece and Welcome to the MySwisAlps Forum,

A Swiss Travel Pass is going to be of marginal value for that sort of trip depending on whether you plan any sort of transport on your day in Grindelwald. Full fare return 2nd class tickets would cost you around CHF180. A 3-day Pass is CHF216.

If you have time go one way via Bern and return via scenic Golden Pass route via Zweisimmen and Montreux. www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass

You can check timetables here www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

If you are arriving and departing Switzerland at Geneva then a Swiss Transfer Ticket at CHF146 may be most economic for you but you are then obliged to travel both ways via the fastest route (ie via Bern). See www.myswissalps.com/sw isstransferticket

Brilliant, thank you so much.. so if I take the Golden pass route on my return is that all included in the cost of a Swiss travel pass? Or do I need to buy a separate ticket for that? Sorry if that question is so obvious, I’ve really struggled to find the information I need. Thanks again

Correct. No further tickets are required if you have a Swiss Travel Pass. Reservations are recommended between Zweisimmen and Montreux during peak tourist periods. See www.mob.ch/en/reservat ion-procedure

If you have time purchase your STP on-line for print at home delivery so you can just hop on the train at Geneva. www.swissrailways.com/ en/node/66
