    Hi ,

I will be travelling to Switzerland with 2 Families ( 4 Adult + 2 Infants) from 25th August to 31st . Based on the various suggestions provided in this forum, I have made this itinerary. It would be great , if the team can review and provide suggestions, we are looking for budget trip .

Day 1: Arrival at Zurich Airport . Check in into hotel. Visit Rhine Falls. Get to see the Rhine Falls up close – take a round trip in the Rhine Falls basin or a boat ride to the rocks in its midst and climb up the rock. Overnight Zurich .

What are the options To reach Rhine Falls from Zurich?

Day 2: Rail journey to Interlaken. Check in into hotel. visit St. Beatus Caves or go for Schynige Platte excursion via Wilderwil from Interlaken . Overnight Interlaken.

Is it necessary to take the Swiss Travel Pass for Rail journey to Interlaken and excursion via Wilderwil? or any other transport ( consider we are 4) we can use for better price?

how we can reach St. Beatus Caves from Interlaken?

Since we have infants which place is good to cover St. Beatus Caves or go for Schynige Platte ?

Day 3: Excursion to Jungfraujoch. Overnight Interlaken .

Is it necessary to take the Swiss Travel Pass for Excursion to Jungfraujoch.

Day 4: Rail Journey to Lucerne. Check in into hotel. Explore the city on your own . Visit Transport Museum or Excursion to Mt Rigi with Lake Lucerne Cruise . Overnight Lucerne.

Day 5: Excursion to MT. Titlis. Overnight Lucerne.

Day 6: Departure to the Zurich Airport .

    Thanks

    Vishweshwara Adiga

    Hi Vishweshwara Adiga,

I think train travel is always the best option for getting around Switzerland and the Swiss Travel Pass is often the most convenient option as well.

You can travel by bus or by boat and train to the St. Beatus Caves (stop is called Beatushöhlen). You can search the railway timetable here for your options.

You could travel to either destination I think. It is good to be cautious at higher altitudes however with infants – Schynige Platte is just at 2000 meters which might be within the limit with infants. But be sure to consult your doctor before going.

Jungfraujoch would be too high I think to travel with infants.

Otherwise your itinerary looks quite good!

    Hi Vishweshwara Adiga,

    1. You can if you don’t start too late. So you can go to the caves in the morning and use the full afternoon for Schynige Platte.

    2. Please see the Swiss Travel Pass link Lucas gave you, and click to “Where it’s valid”. You’ll find all details, including a map, there.

    Hi vishwadiga,

Are you asking what else there is to do in the Interlaken area other than Jungfraujoch?
There is quite a bit! Have a read through our activities page on Interlaken for some ideas.
