Thank you for letting us know – another area waiting to be discovered by those who are fond of Switzerland! I did some more research than just entering “canton jura commune allemande”… It is a very interesting area, just t0 the south of the Canton of Basel-Land, with quite a long history and also many possibilities for hikes and cycle tour: http://www.komoot.com/guide/403545/attractions-around-ederswiler.

That is the correct answer. It is interesting that the people of Ederswiler have no intention of leaving Jura for Basel-Land as one might wonder. They have had two votes about this. Their children go to school nearby and are taught in French so they are probably the most bilingual people in both cantons.
And yes, the rolling countryside is most beautiful. It would be perfect for cycle tours.
Next quiz question will (hopefully) be a bit tougher.
That’s really interesting. As a tourist it’s easy to overlook the “issues” that come within multiple languages within one small country. People can easily assume that everyone is at least bilingual/trilingual, or that there are hard borders where people only speak one language on one side, and another on the other side. In reality there are a lot of different flavors. Not even to mention dialects causing people speaking the same main language not to understand each other 🙂 I remember posters in Vaud a few years ago trying to stimulate people to learn German in addition to the local French.
It’s an amazing country.
