    HI,

On arriving in Lucerne on the 8th April,

    1) what is the best tour to do. Mount Titlis or Mount Rigi.

    2) Will it be better to buy the Swiss Travel Pass before (online) or at the counter.

    Thanks

Hi Rosamond and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Both Titlis and Rigi are charming in their own right. Titlis is higher up, so more chance to see a lot of snow. You can have a look at previous threads on the subject on our forum (search box on the top right).

Rigi allows various (easy) walks and can be combined with a boat ride. Access by a cogwheel train.
Titlis is higher, no hiking (except from the mid station), but various other activities at the top. Access by cableway.

We also have detailed information on each destination, so the following links should be useful:

About the pass, we recommend you buy it in advance, the product is exactly the same however if you buy it in advance it can be emailed to you and printed at home which saves you time at the airport and means you can directly board your train. It also provides you an electronic back-up in case you lose the pass.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    Maria.
