Does anyone with fear of height attempted the trill walk- How did you feel while there? what do you think about this experience now, after it’s all done? Contemplating this idea – leaving for Switzerland on Tuesday.

I haven’t done the Thrill Walk at Birg but if you have the Swiss Travel Pass you can stop on your way up Schilthorn (all free) and decide once you are there if it looks doable for you. 🙂

If you click on the link below, and then on the photo next to the heading Thrill Walk, you can see a series of photos showing various parts of the Thrill Walk. There are a few “extra thrilling” sections (e.g. walking along a cable, and crawling through a wire tunnel), but you can bypass those by staying on the main walkway if you prefer!

I enjoyed the walk and was not scared at all. But if you have acrophobia then it could be a little scary. Certain sections have glass panels on the floor, or a rope with sufficient safety support, and finally a net hanging outside the cliff to crawl through.

I did the walk twice, it’s fun!

    Hi Ritu

Where do you start this thrill walk? We will be in Wengen. What is the cost if we have a STP? Thank you.

It is located at Birg which is between Murren and Schilthorn. You have to change cable cars in Birg anyway. We did the walk on the way down from Schilthorn.

The walk itself is free of cost. Schilthorn is covered by the STP so your entire trip from Wengen will be covered (only for 2018).

On the way down spend some time in Gimmelwald, one cable car down from Murren. You can walk down from Murren if you have time.
