    Hello,

Our primary travel plan for September 10 – 19 is:

    Zurich to Bern(overnight)

    Bern to Wilderswil (3 nights)

    Wilderswil to Pully (3 nights)

    Pully to Zurich (2 nights)

I started working the numbers using the spreadsheet, and based on our activities, I believe the Trail Pass is a good value. My question is the 15 day pass seems like it’s too much, and the 8-day pass isn’t quite enough. We want to visit Luzern before flying home on Sept. 19, and I’m sure we will take a boat ride or two. Any recommendations on how to supplement the 8-day, or should we just play it safe and get the 15-day pass? Thank you for your time!

Hello Mary G and welcome to MySwissAlps,

Is a “Trail Pass” perhaps a Swiss Travel Pass?

One way of extending an 8-day pass is the Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass and bit.ly/2rkekat).

Just work the number with the spreadsheet and you’ll arrive at the right answer.

Use the timetable on the SBB website (bit.ly/2HH1U7B) or the highly-recommended SBB Mobile app (bit.ly/2ICIUHi) to plan your travel, find fares* and buy tickets if required. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on this page – http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable. *SBB website shows half-fare prices by default, mobile app allows you to nominate full or half-fare and is also smart enough to offer you the Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass) if that offers the best fare.

    Hello Mary G,

A nice pass to look into to explore the area around Lucerne is the Tell Pass, maybe a nice option for you:

Another option to look at would be the Swiss Half Fare Card, which would simply “half” any ticket price of any trip:

Happy calculating and get back to us anytime for further input.

    Best,
    Steph
