    Hello,

This summer my family and I are traveling from Basel SBB to Interlaken OST on to Lauterbrunnen. Is it necessary to purchase tickets inadvance from Basel to Interlaken and then on to Lauterbrunnen or can we purchase when we arrive at the station on day of travel? Thank you. Good Day.

    Toni

Hello Toni and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

It is not necessary to buy tickets in advance but may be convenient to do using the SBB Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable). You can buy them on-line or at a station. Whichever works best for you. If you are doing the trip in one day then you only need one ticket/person which will cover that route even if you break the journey at Interlaken.

    Hi Toni,

Another option to buy point to point tickets online can be found on our website here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/traintickets

Depending on your travel plans in Switzerland you may want to look at rail passes instead. Have a read through the options you have here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/train/ticketspas ses

You could look at the Swiss Travel Pass to cover most of the country, or smaller regional passes like the Jungfrau Travel Pass if you stay in Lauterbrunnen for an extended period of time.
