Hi, We are experienced hikers but heard we should get travel health insurance to cover our trip to Switzerland just in case someone has a serious sprain or worse and need to be helicoptered off a mountain trail. Do you have any companies you recommend?

REGA. I use it every year.

Cheap and reliable. A few friends have used it with outstanding results.

Slowpoke’s recommendation is perfect. We have held a Rega membership for years. Thankfully have never had to use it.

What Rega membership does is cover the cost of the helicopter rescue. But it is not medical insurance so you would still be responsible for all medical care costs. There are dozens of short term traveler medical insurance that are pretty reasonable from a cost standpoint. If you are interested in that I suggest you google search and pick the one that best fits your needs.

Thank you very much. As of today we are REGA supporters!
