Use the Swiss Train Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you haven’t used it before it will pay to read the instructions on that page before delving into the timetable.
The timetable will default to the fastest route.
If you wan to follow the Golden Pass LIne (http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass), which is longer but more scenic, you need to go between Montreux and Lauterbrunnen via Zweisimmen. Don’t miss it.

Thanks. When I try to book tickets for Golden Pass, it directs me to RailEurope website.
But there it does not show me the link to Golden Pass tickets because it shows the route via Visp & Spiez and not via Zweisimmen. Please advise.
Also, I believe I will have to reach Interlaken (Golden Pass route) to get to Lauterbrunnen. Am I correct?
And I dnt see an option to select Swiss Half fare Card on the Rail Europe Website. I only see Swiss travel Pass.

So I got to see another thread which said that due to construction work in the Montreux – Zweisimmen stretch (travelling on 22nd Apr from Montreux to Lauterbrunnen), we will have to do a bus ride from Montbovon to Château-d’Oex. Which means we will have handle/shift our luggage at:
at Montreux (in the train)
at Montbovon (in the bus),
at Château-d’Oex (in the train)
at Interlaken (in the train)
at Lauterbrunnen
Wont that prove to be a too much of a hassle?

Hi Pragun,
Yes, reservations won’t be possible between Montreux and Zweisimmen when you travel due to the bus connection at Mont Bovon (the other sections do not require reservations).
I would simply buy your tickets at a rail station prior to traveling on those trains – no need to buy tickets ahead of time and it allows you to change your mind and travel direct if you want.
As for the changes required, yes there are a 2 extra points where you’ll need to get your luggage (getting on/off the train and bus at Montbovon-Château-d’Oex. You also have to change at Zweisimmen before Interlaken.
Best case scenario you have two connections between Montreux and Lauterbrunnen (Zweisimmen and Interlaken with the Golden Pass route) Now you add the bus connection. BUT the regional train option, while faster, also makes you change 3 times (Visp, Spiez and Interlaken).

Sorry I forgot to mention the bus thing. Apart from the luggage issue the bus transfer will be very smooth. Swiss Railways are very good at what they do. Take the Golden Pass route unless the weather is very bad.
