In September we will traveling through Switzerland by car. We need to know if there are trains from Spiez to Visp that we load the car and ourselves on the same train. Does anyone have a schedule of such trains.that go through Lotschberg tunnel to Visp. Thank you, Swissrog

Do I have to drive to Kandersteg to catch car train or does it start from Spiez to get to Visp? Swissrog

    Hi Swissrog,

It departs from Kandersteg, not Spiez (see the above links). And it arrives in Goppenstein, not Visp.

You drive as far as Kandersteg, follow signs to Goppenstein and drive your car on to the train (sets of flat wagons with canopies and open sides) and stay in it at all times, then you rumble and bounce around for about 15 minutes, then you drive off the wagons at the other end and drive down the hairpinned road to Steg where you rejoin the main road network.

I used it a few weeks ago. My picture shows what it looks like from the front seat of your car.
