I have read that you can drop your luggage at one station and pick it up later at another station.

We are going from Zurich to Lucerne on the 7th May and would like to possibly go to Interlaken or some other rail journey on the way from Zurich and then go back to Lucerne for the night. Is this an easy process?

Are there any restrictions with opening hours or any issues getting bags transferred on the same day?

Do they let you know what time it will arrive at your destination or can you specify a time?

It would be easier to drop your luggage off at Luzern Station (lockers) or at your hotel and then continue on from there. Otherwise see “Luggage Services” at http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/practical/luggage.
